About Mind Play
Mindplay is a non-medical integrative counselling,coaching and hypnotherapy service based in the southern suburbs of Cape Town, offering both online and face-to-face (in person) sessions. The use of mindfulness based practices; mental rehearsal and imagery; client centered affirmation; corrective self-talk and self-healing exercises are included where needed in sessions. Whether you simply need to talk – to better explore and unpack your current situation or past circumstances – or whether you are actively wanting to engage in changing certain thought-emotion-behavioural patterns that may be limiting you in your life; or if you are needing assistance in reaching a certain desired outcome, my service can be of great value to you. Emphasis is placed on using one’s mind to develop greater self-awareness and mindfulness, as well as using the power of one’s mind to create the thoughts, feelings and images that will encourage you to step into a new healthier version of yourself.

BIOGRAPHY
Taryn attended Rhodes University in Grahamstown where she received her 4 year Psychology Honours degree together with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Thereafter, she was certified as a Hypnotherapist after studying through the South African Institute of Hypnotherapy. Taryn also attained a two year practical Counselling Diploma through the South African College of Applied Psychology. In addition, she has obtained counselling training from FAMSA, Hospice and Lifeline. Apart from her study in psychology, Taryn has also been riveted and wholeheartedly engaged for the last 15 years in the study of mind-body therapies, mindfulness, meditation and the role that thoughts and feelings play in the orchestration of our lives. Of particular influence has been the work of John Kehoe, Joe Dispenza, Bruce Lipton, Gregg Braden and Eckhart Tolle. In addition, Taryn has been training in the field of qi gong for several years, and has received her certification as a Mingjue teacher and healer in the field of Zhineng Qigong.
